CFTS Documentation

Our People

CFTS is led and supported by people with complementary responsibility for engineering, finance, operations, client relationships, hosting, and business development.

The people named below represent the company's current leadership and principal client and service responsibilities. They are supported by the wider engineering, operations, administration, and specialist resources used to deliver and maintain CFTS services.

Leadership and Ownership

Peter Atkin

Founder and Director, Infrastructure and Engineering

Peter founded the original trading operation in Uganda in 1994 and leads the technical direction of CFTS. His responsibilities include infrastructure architecture, engineering oversight, resilience, technical power, networks, servers, storage, hosting, recovery, security, and the design of systems that cross several technical disciplines.

He is closely involved in major projects, unusual technical problems, service design, and escalations where the wider operating environment needs to be considered rather than one product in isolation. Peter also guides the long-term development of CFTS infrastructure and the standards used to keep systems understandable, maintainable, and recoverable.

Professional profile

Tasha Mabonga

Co-founder and Director, Finance and Operations

Tasha oversees the financial and operational functions that support CFTS service delivery. Her remit includes finance, accounts, procurement, compliance, operational administration, internal coordination, and the practical controls needed behind projects and ongoing services.

She has played a central role in formalising and developing the business since the Computer Facilities legal entity was established in 2005. As CFTS expands, Tasha is also responsible for developing the finance and operations team, delegating day-to-day work, and maintaining clear oversight as those functions grow.

Primary client-service responsibility now sits with Joshua, while Tasha and Peter retain executive oversight of service quality, commercial responsibilities, and operational risk.

Tim Sargent

Strategic Business Development

Tim a active shareholder who contributes to business planning, strategic development, and the assessment of larger commercial opportunities. He supports the company remotely from Europe and is brought into major accounts or more complex opportunities where senior commercial input and wider business perspective are useful.

His role is distinct from day-to-day sales and client support. It focuses on longer-term direction, significant account development, and opportunities that require senior planning across commercial and technical considerations.

Professional profile

Client and Service Operations

Joshua Mabonga

Customer Relations and Sales Manager

Joshua is responsible for client relationships, sales coordination, and the commercial path from an initial enquiry into a clearly defined requirement. His work includes client discovery, account management, quotations and proposals, follow-up, renewals, and coordinating solution scoping with engineering and operations.

He acts as a primary link between clients and the wider CFTS team, helping ensure that requests reach the right technical, hosting, accounts, or project resource. Peter and Tasha retain executive oversight, but Joshua owns the day-to-day client-relations function and the continuity of communication around new and existing business.

Professional profile

Najib Matovu

Shared Hosting Operations Lead

Najib is responsible for the day-to-day operation of CFTS shared-hosting services. His role includes customer and account support, new-account provisioning, routine platform administration, migrations, backup and restore requests, domain and DNS assistance, security and abuse handling, billing-query coordination, and escalation to infrastructure engineering where required.

Having worked within CFTS since 2017, Najib provides continuity between shared-hosting clients and the systems supporting their services. He handles routine service needs directly and ensures that more complex issues are passed to the appropriate engineering, accounts, or operational resource without losing context.

The Wider Team

CFTS work is supported by engineering, operations, administration, workshop, installation, and specialist resources appropriate to the service or project.

The company deliberately works across disciplines because infrastructure problems rarely remain within one boundary. A network issue may depend on power or cabling. A hosting issue may involve DNS, storage, security, or backup. A project may require engineering, procurement, logistics, documentation, commissioning, and client training to work together.

The aim is not to place every responsibility with one person. It is to keep ownership clear while ensuring that the people involved understand how their part affects the complete system.
