Pricing Philosophy
CFTS provides both standardised services and customised infrastructure solutions.
While some services are available at fixed pricing, most deployments are designed based on specific technical and operational requirements.
Standard vs Custom Services
CFTS offers two general approaches:
- Standard Services
Predefined solutions such as shared hosting, designed for simplicity and predictable cost - Custom Infrastructure
Tailored environments designed around specific workloads, performance needs, and operational requirements
This allows organisations to choose the level of flexibility and control that suits their needs.
How Pricing Is Determined
For customised environments, pricing is based on a combination of factors, including:
- storage type and capacity
- compute resources (CPU, memory)
- access methods (e.g. application, SFTP, object storage)
- backup and data protection requirements
- performance expectations
- hosting location (Uganda, UK, or hybrid)
This ensures that infrastructure is aligned with actual usage rather than fixed assumptions.
Engineering-Led Design
CFTS takes an engineering-led approach to pricing.
Instead of allocating generic resources, we design infrastructure around how systems are used, ensuring:
- appropriate performance
- efficient use of resources
- alignment with operational requirements
Technical Scoping
To provide accurate pricing, CFTS typically conducts a brief technical discussion to understand:
- the intended workload
- expected data growth
- access and performance requirements
- backup and retention needs
This ensures that the proposed solution is both technically appropriate and commercially aligned.
Predictable & Transparent
Where possible, pricing is structured to provide:
- clear cost visibility
- predictable billing
- flexibility to scale over time
This allows organisations to plan and manage infrastructure costs effectively.
Why This Matters
Infrastructure requirements vary significantly between organisations.
A fixed pricing model can lead to underperformance, over-provisioning, or unnecessary cost.
CFTS addresses this by aligning pricing with real-world requirements, ensuring that organisations receive infrastructure that fits their needs rather than adapting their systems to fit a predefined service.
